PRIVATE WANDERS, EVENTS, AND GETAWAYS 

Coming for a visit? Our home land is just as beautiful as the pictures paint it, and we want to show you what it is like up close and personal. Make your Montana experience as unique and magical as these lands!

Live locally? We partner with private land stewards, small organizations, businesses, ranch holders, and schools to bring the joy of plant learning home to your small group. Learn more about the place that holds you!

We host a couple different styles of wander:

--Foraging walk (2-3 hours): This is a slow-paced walk with ample stopping to identify and discuss many different edible and medicinal plants, and depending on the season, mushrooms! We cover plant properties and medicinal constituents, applications, stories, and anecdotes from our own experience. Extra emphasis is placed on relationship to place, reciprocity, stewardship, and belonging. We also always bring a little snack and beverage to showcase the deliciousness of wild foods in real time. Tasting is believing! Fun, informative, and inspiring for all!

--Foraging walk plus crafting of infusion, salve, or oxymel (Full Day, Seasonally dependent): foraging walk (description above) + harvesting plants to create a tea blend, oil/salve, or oxymel (vinegar honey blend). Guests will be guided through the whole process of tea blending, salve making, or oxymel crafting as well as getting to learn about the medicinal benefits of different plants they are working with and how to best use their creation. Everyone leaves with a tea, salve/oil, or oxymel of their creation!

--Foraging walk plus crafting essential oil and hydrosol (Full Day, Seasonally dependent): foraging walk (description above) + time to forage for different plants to create a one-of-a-kind essential oil and hydrosol. Learn how a small copper still works, and partake in all the steps to create a unique product that you'll get to enjoy time and again as a reminder of your favorite last best place! Everyone leaves with hydrosol of their own creation (and essential oil depending on the choices of the group!).
