What our community says!
I have been privileged to know Wild Wanders - and their fabolous, fearless leaders Cat and Syd - since their inception in 2022 and I can't overstate how incredible their mission is and how much it has impacted my life. Cat and Syd have incredible botanical and medicinal knowledge that they graciously share (often quite passionately) to people of all walks of life and experiences. Their workshops and events are FUN and varied, based in local ecosystems and the seasons. To name a few, I've had the opportunity to harvest lion's mane mushrooms, attend many a plant walk, make cottonwood salve, tea bundles, and learn about oxymels.
But what has perhaps impacted me more is the sharing of worldviews and values at the heart of Wild Wanders. Cat and Syd are both intentional about not only sharing knowledge and skills, but also how foraging and plant medicines are situated within larger social contexts. At every workshop or class, Cat and Syd beautifully weave in teaching nuggets and thoughts including around human-non-human relationships, holistic health, community building, mutual aid, gift economies, navigating colonization, and more that are profound and salient. These have given me new lenses that fundamentally change how I relate to the natural word, and how I see forming relationships and communities with local ecologies (human people, and non-human people) as a cornerstone of a lived experience and panacea for the many interwoven crises we face. Also, their relationship and dynamic is AMAZING and emblematic of the care, fun, spunk, and wisdom that they bring to their work.
Although I am no longer in Missoula currently, I share recent pics from some harvested rose hips and spruce tip cookes, most certainly inspired by my time with Wild Wanders, showcasing how their teachings still play a role in my life. I can't recommend them enough! So much love :)
